Cardiff Rally

With Scogui time running rife it took over two hours from arrival at the union to leaving for the trip to the principality. Even leaving Loughborough it was cold, with snow expected and no beer. The Scogui bus moved through the Midlands to South Wales, arriving at nearly midnight. Breaking from usual form, there was only a small campfire and singing was not allowed as it was close to the Swansea/Cardiff mainline and a housing estate. For about an hour will mill around in a converted chapel with the rest of SSAGO, before the lack of beverages causing most of the Scogui people (but not all) to disappear off to bed.

Saturday morning was spent on site moving around the site participating in tasks, such as walking on skis, as opposed to plain silly games which would come on Sunday. Simon had the pleasure of a monster reps meeting, as Ali was trying to get the new SSAGO constitution in place before he left the post (he was ultimately unsuccessful).

At lunchtime the whole rally left the site for the afternoons activities, so a couple of us decided rather than carrying our costumes round with us on the pub crawl that we would wear them for drinking in Cardiff. The slight snag was that me and Helmet were dressed as members of the 3rd Foot and Mouth from Carry on up the Kyber, which involved kilts and Khaki. After a coach journey into Cardiff, we set about exploring the cities establishments. Once we had progressed around the obligatory seven bars, all the activities re-covened at the union for a meal before the barn dance.

As we were already at the barn dance venue some time needed killing so a quiz was organised, with Leeds ultimately winning. Rannygazoo struck the music for several hours of barn dancing. Once the bar dance had concluded, we disappeared back to Miskin and bed.

Sunday morning came bright and early, mainly cause I was still wearing the kilt as it had become welded to my waist. Although silly games were planned, there was the small matter of the AGM. Despite not being a declared candidate and having absolutely no hair I someone left the meeting as the new SSAGO Treasurer (Doh). The meeting was followed by short silly games, and a farewell to Ali the SSAGO Chair and the journey home. As we did not get home till late there was no after rally drinks.
