Monday 21st March was the annual SOCFED Awards Night, which celebrated all the fantastic achievements of 2010-2011 committees. Myself, Jamie (Chair), Megan (Liaisons), Tom (Treasurer) and Cain (Freshers Rep) as well as the lovely Boo Boo Bear attended.
The first award of the evening was for the community award, and it was not much of a surprise that we won it again! Everyone in SCOGUI who has ever helped in a unit or at a community event, this award is for you. We really do make a difference and you should be so proud of yourselves!!
Also, our lovely ex-chair, Jamie Shirra was one of the six people selected out of the many, many nominations for the extra mile award. Jamie truly deserves this recognition, congratulations!
Throughout the evening, we were able to enjoy performances from several different societies, including the Gospel Choir, Bellydancing and Fever.
We had a great night at the awards, it is a fantastic evening of achievements, and the free food and wine isn’t too terrible either!
Once, again, thank you to everyone who puts in their hours to make our community better, here is to another fantastic year!!
Jody told me where he got his suit from that night, I was silly enough not to write it down, but I WANT ONE!

It was a really fun night, had a great time, I would like to thank Rosie for making Booboo’s beautifully smart black trousers, he looked splendid that night!
Well done SCOGUI, let’s keep it up! And well done Jamie, you really deserve it =)
