15 people, in a sitting room, in the student triangle is not an easy feat, but this weekend it was done! You definitely don’t see it often, but progressive supper brings the largest groups to the smallest rooms as SCOGUI ‘tour’ Loughborough in search of a meal in parts.

This year it was mainly based in the student triangle, with everyone arriving a little too early to Rob’s for the first course of bruchetta (catching him still getting ready!), then on to SCOGUI house where Aimée and Megan had prepared several different ‘posh pasta bakes’ (as Pete put it) to cater for everyones different tastes. Vicki produced a flurry of different desserts, with meringues, cheesecake and even chocolate cake bite lollypops! The final cheese course was left to Cain, and he didn’t disappoint. With a table full of cheeses and port, many, many toasts were given, wrapping up the evening.

Thank you to everyone who cooked, and prepared, and cleaned up, and most importantly… thank you to those who ate it all.

Last night meant climbing at Alter Rock in Derby for quite a few SCOGUItes!

from relative novices to experienced climbers, everyone tried out the walls, belaying, and posing for photos (Rob was having fun with his camera!)

Now I hope everyone has their dinner jackets and dresses ready, as Annual Dinner is this weekend! That means it is time to suit up, get fancy, and have fun with SCOGUI old and new!

The annual event hosted by SCOGUI for Loughborough District Scouts and Guides went down a treat! The evening started at Nanpantan Scout Hut and the young people had to complete a series of incidents whilst walking through the Outwoods in the dark. They then slept overnight, before finding out who won the Night Hike Challenge Trophy, which this year was 4th Shepshed Scouts!

Well done to all the Scouts and Guides for participating, it was a long night for some, but everyone managed to complete the route before daylight! (I’m kidding, they all completed it and were in bed before 2am)

Hopefully the SCOGUI members that helped out at Night Hike have now recovered from being worn out and sleep deprived over the weekend! Thank you all so much for helping out, but the biggest thanks go to James Waterworth for organising and running the event this year!
