Chair

Name: Cain Missenden
Email: chair@scogui.org.uk
About Me: Hey there, I am ‘Cainington’ Cain and I am your Chair for this year! I’m either in my fourth (on placement) or fifth (final) year of a Systems Engineering MEng, depending on when you’re reading this. I have been involved in scouting, officially, for nearly 16 years, so I have some history. As Chair I am supposed to give the club direction and purpose, to further our achievements and most importantly, to keep you, the members, happy! If you have any general suggestions, problems, feedback or queries, I am (or should be) the person who has a good overview of what is going on throughout the club, so get in touch and I will try my hardest to help (even if that is pointing you in the direction of someone who knows better!). I love SCOGUI and I am sure you, too, will enjoy your time within the SCOGUI family!

Vice Chair

Name: Mark Harrop
Email: vicechair@scogui.org.uk
About Me: Hi Everyone i’m Mark your Vice Chair, dogsbody and general scapegoat! I’ve been in SCOGUI for 4 years now so I’ve seen how the club changes over time and my job is to help the club grow and change to reflect you the members. My main focus is weekend (and longer) events, trying to run as many as possible and with enough variety to provide something for everyone, no matter what you’re into. If you have an idea for an event or you want help running one just give me a shout and we’ll see what we can sort out! Thanks for listening!

Secretary

Name: Tom Ecclestone
Email: secretary@scogui.org.uk
About Me: Hi, my name is Tom ‘The Tweeded Tweedle’ Ecclestone, I’m a third year Chemical Engineer on placement at Walkers Crisps. This year I am in the role of secretary, which means that I am primarily in charge of the paperwork and the minute taking of the club, as well as (constantly) reminding the chair of agendas and committee meetings to organise. I have, for better or for worse, been a member of scouting from the age of 5, and have a great love for the making and using of fires for cooking various things, especially rabbit and woodpidgeon.

Treasurer

Name: Tom Chapman
Email: treasurer@scogui.org.uk
About Me: Hi, my name is Tom, I am another Chemical Engineer and I’m the Treasurer for SCOGUI this year. This means it’s my job to deal with all of the monies (yes, that is actually a real word) and the accounts. I have been involved in Scouting since the age of 7, rising through the ranks and doing many stupid things (like wearing too many hats). I can most often be found looking for wood for a fire or next to the campfire. Have fun and remember it’s not a fire until you can put a whole pallet on it!

Publicity

Name: KJ Duncumb
Email: publicity@scogui.org.uk
About Me: I’m KJ your publicity officer, which means I get to do all the cool stuff within SCOGUI, like designing stash and web design. I am also on Facebook and twitter a lot, so like and follow SCOGUI (links on the home page!) for more updates from me! I’m in first year studying Materials Engineering and having great fun at Loughborough especially with everyone in SCOGUI. I’ve been in Scouting pretty much my whole life, but don’t hold that against me, I’m just still enjoying all the things that scouts do.

Liaisons

Name: Position not filled
Email: Liaisons@scogui.org.uk
We don’t have a Liaisons Officer at the moment, but this position will be up for election in the next general meeting, to anyone looking to take on the role.

Quartermaster

Name: Robert Luff
Email: qm@scogui.org.uk
About Me: Hi, I am Robert I am the QM (Quarter Master). That means I look after the kit/gear and other stuff. I have been involved in scouting from a young age and I am passionate about the outdoors. My course is Systems Engineering and I am in my forth year. I am fascinated by outdoor gear in all its guises, if there is anything that can keep me outdoors longer and make it more comfortable, I am interested. If you need any kit for an event or just want to talk about a gizmo or ugemafip for a whatsit that will revolutionise outdoor gear then give me a holler.

Freshers Rep

Name: Krupa Nandha
Email: freshers@scogui.org.uk
About Me: Hi guys, I’m Krupa and I’m currently in my first year studying International Business. Despite only being in SCOGUI for a short while I can truly say I’m loving every minute of it! I have been in scouting/ guiding for many years: I started out as a Brownie and then re-joined as a Young Leader at my local Scout troop a few years ago and now am an Assistant Scout Leader there! As Freshers’ rep it’s my job is to make sure all the freshers’ are having a great time and their views are heard. If you have any queries, problems or suggestions please don’t hesitate to contact me and I’ll do my best to help you out!
